STUDENT CREED

I INTEND TO DEVELOP MYSELF IN A

POSITIVE MANNER AND TO AVOID

ANYTHING THAT WOULD REDUCE MY

MENTAL GROWTH OR MY PHYSICAL

HEALTH.

 

 I INTEND TO DEVELOP SELF

DISCIPLINE IN ORDER TO BRING OUT

THE BEST IN MYSELF AND OTHERS.

 

 

                                            I INTEND TO USE WHAT I LEARN IN

                                    CLASS CONSTRUCTIVELY AND DEFENSIVELY, 

                                     TO HELP MYSELF AND OTHERS, AND NEVER

                                               TO BE ABUSIVE OR OFFENSIVE.

 

 

 

        

RULES & REGULATIONS

      1.At no time will any student enter the training hall with shoes on.

      2.Students who enter or leave the training hall will face the flags and acknowledge with a

      bow.

       3.Students late for class will ask permission of the instructor to enter the class.

       4.Never question or contradict the word of your instructor.

       5.No jewelry or chewing gum will be allowed in class.

       6.Talk on the floor only when asking a question of the instructor.

        7.During the class period there will be no talking or laughter.

        8.No profanity will be allowed in the training hall.

        9.No students are permitted to eat, drink or smoke in the training hall. If a student 

         must eat, drink or smoke with the uniform on, the belt must be removed and placed

         around the neck.

         10.When entering the office - knock, bow and enter.

.        11.Students will acknowledge the instructor with a Sir or Mam

         12.Students will acknowledge their parents with a Sir or Mam when in the presence of 

          the  Master Instructor.

          13.Never smoke in the presence of the Master Instructor.

          14.Students will address each other as Mr., Mrs. Or Ms.

          15.Show respect and love between senior and junior ranks.

          16..You will conduct yourself outside of class as a lady or gentleman and a true Tae  

          Kwon Do representative at all times.

          17..Tae Kwon Do or any other form of self-defense will be used only as a means of 

           self- defense to protect yourself, your family or the weak.

           18. Failure to comply with the above can result in dismissal from class, period of 

           probation, loss of grade, loss of grade and suspension from all activities, or, dismissal

WHAT IS TAE KWON DO

Tae Kwon Do is the ancient Korean art of unarmed combat passed down for many centuries from Master to devoted student.

Tae means to smash or kick with the foot. Kwon means to punch or attack with the hand.

Do means the art or way. Literally translated Tae Kwon Do means The Art of Hand and Foot Fighting.

 

STUDENT OATH

I shall faithfully observe the tenets of
Tae Kwon Do.

I shall respect the instructors and
seniors.

I shall never misuse my Tae Kwon Do
skills.

I shall be a champion of freedom
and justice.

I shall build a more peaceful world.

 

TENETS OF TEA WON DO

A principle, belief or doctrine generally held to be true; especially one held in common by members of an organization, movement or profession,

COURTESY (YE Ui)

To promote the spirit of mutual concessions. To be ashamed of one's vice or hold in contempt that of others.

To be polite to one another.

To encourage the sense of justice.

To distinguish the instructor from student and senior from junior.

INTEGRITY (YOM CHI)

The instructor must be true to the art in word and deed. Students must not fix breaking materials for demonstrations. The instructor cannot hide bad techniques with false praise.

Students cannot ask for or buy rank. Students should not gain rank for ego or power.

PERSERVEKENCE (iN NAE)

Patience leads to virtue or merit.

To achieve something one must set ones goal then constantly strive to that end.

Don't be a quitter.

SELF-CONTROL (GUK KJ)

The student must always be in control of one's mind and body.

In class the student has a responsibility to fellow students to never lose one's temper or control.

In life the student must be an example of the art.

INDOMITABLE SPIRIT   (BAEKJOOL BOOLGOOL)

To be a champion you can never afford to quit.

Being behind in anything means only that you must try harder.

True Tae Kwon Do students never quit.

  SPARRING RULES

 

1.  No student will be permitted to
punch to the face

2.  Only light contact when kicking
or punching to body or head

           3."Getting even" is not allowed &

will not be tolerated

4.Higher rank belts are expected
to help lower rank belts

5.  Students will stop sparring on
Command

6.  No sparring without Black Belt
